Top scholarships for women

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Foundation has established a scholarship program to assist female high school seniors participating in a form of football (touch, flag, tackle, etc.) who plan to continue their education in college. Applicants must plan to enroll in an undergraduate study at an accredited four-year college or university for the entire upcoming academic year. Past recipients may not reapply. Awards are for undergraduate study only. One online recommendation form must be submitted on the applicant's behalf no later than April 21, 2025. The Griffin Utility Club ASN Tuition, Textbook, and Toolbox Scholarship is available to a female nursing student who is a Spalding County resident. If awarded, $250 of the funds will be applied to tuition, and $250 will be applied to the bookstore for course-required textbooks and/or tools. The Griffin Utility Club was a former service organization that supported the needs of Spalding County, especially the Nursing needs. Please visit the scholarship's website for more information.

The Women's Empowerment Scholarship will be awarded to re-entering or continuing students who want to learn a marketable skill that will lead to economic self-sufficiency. The applicant must identify as a woman and be 25 years of age or older. Two letters of recommendation are required. One must be academic, and the second may be academic or professional. The Winifred Goldring Award will be presented to outstanding female graduate students pursuing a career in paleontology (and affiliated sciences) at a degree-granting institution. Successful applicants will exhibit exceptional motivation, professional potential, outreach, and long-term commitment to goals. Students may receive the Winifred Goldring Award only once during the tenure of their graduate school careers. No prior AWG or PS membership is required. National or international students are allowed to apply, with the exception of sanctioned countries. Two letters of recommendation from faculty or other scientific mentors must be submitted. All letters of recommendation should address the following criteria: (A) The types and amount of experience the recommender has had with the applicant. (B) Her current and future contributions to paleontology and the broader community. (C) The applicant's potential for future success in a paleontological field. (D) The applicant strengths/weaknesses in leadership, intellectual merit, academic achievement, character, community involvement, etc. (E) Any circumstances that may influence the applicant's academic record that may not reflect the student's full potential. The Dr. Sydell Perlmutter Gold Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to daughters of Air Force members pursuing a bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Education, or Mathematics (STEM) field. Applicants must be graduating high school seniors who have excelled in mathematics. Preference will be given to applicants who are first-generation college students and have demonstrated financial need based on the most recently submitted FAFSA. The Susan Schulman Begley Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to those who must identify as a woman, who is establishing herself as a head of household and a single parent, and due to extreme circumstances, following the dissolution of an abusive or emotionally traumatic relationship, has no other adequate financial means, and requires funds to meet immediate needs for herself and her children, including rent and food. CWEF's mission is to invest in women who are transforming their lives through education for themselves, their families, and their communities. Applicants must be a resident of Colorado or reside in Colorado while earning their certification or degree. Applicants must have enrolled in or already attending an accredited educational institution of higher learning or vocational training (earning a certification, or associates, bachelor's, master's, or doctorate degree). Eligible applicants will need to demonstrate financial need, academic ability, leadership skills, career goals, and community involvement. A resume is highly recommended, but not required. The Mary Murphy Scholarship was established by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Century City Alumnae Chapter in 1985. This scholarship is designed to provide financial support to women pursuing graduate and professional degrees, especially in the fields where African American women are underrepresented. Applicants must submit two letters of recommendation from a faculty member or academic advisor or professional organization that speaks to the applicant's leadership experience, and an organization or individual that can attest to the applicant's civic engagement. The YWCA Clark County Chan Barnett Scholarship is available to Washington state residents with an association to the YWCA of Clark County, who are a survivor of domestic violence and identify as a woman returning to the workforce. The mission of the YWCA Clark County Scholarship is to advance, support and promote education for women returning to the workforce. Applicants must have association with YWCA of Clark County and must be a survivor of domestic violence. They must identify as a woman returning to the workforce. Renewal applicants will have special consideration or priority. Applicants must provide the year(s) they have been associated with the YWCA and in what role, including which service programs they participated in.
